The construction unit plays an integral role in supporting STS Drilling and Exploration Limited’s drilling activities. Its scope includes the end-to-end supply, installation, and commissioning of a wide range of borehole and water distribution equipment.

Specifically, the construction unit is responsible for:

• Pump Supply & Installation: Sourcing and fitting various types of pumps—including submersible, centrifugal, hand pumps, and solar-powered pumps—tailored to the borehole depth, yield, and end-user requirements (domestic, agricultural, or community use).
• Reservoir Filling & Connection: Supplying and installing water storage reservoirs (e.g., galvanized steel, plastic, or concrete tanks) with capacities ranging from small domestic units to large community-scale tanks, including proper inlet/outlet piping, float valves, and overflow systems. Where required, the unit also manages the initial filling and testing of reservoirs to ensure structural integrity and water safety.
• Plumbing Works: Executing all associated plumbing connections from the borehole pump to the reservoir and from the reservoir to distribution points (taps, standpipes, or livestock troughs). This includes laying HDPE or PVC pipelines, installing valves, pressure gauges, tap stands, and leak-proof fittings.
• Irrigation Systems: Designing and installing small and large-scale irrigation networks—such as drip irrigation kits, sprinkler systems, and gravity-fed garden layouts—to support household food security, school gardens, or community farming projects. These systems are often integrated with reservoir outlets and can be manually operated or connected to low-pressure pumps.

By coordinating closely with the drilling and consultancy units, the construction unit ensures that every borehole is not just a water source, but a complete, functional water supply system that empowers end-users from day one.
